Intentional Schools require that the board fully understands and supports the function of
the school. The important steps of developing a statement of faith or belief, a statement of
purpose, the defined role of parents, and goals for learners falls on the shoulders of the
board. Once they are developed, it is the responsibility of the board to see that these statements
are upheld in the everyday running of the school. An Intentional School helps facilitate this
by putting in place program that has evaluation built in.
The board, having defined the purpose and beliefs of the school, has the responsibility
to see that their intent is being upheld by the administration. All of this is coupled
with the understanding that all those associated with the school hold the school up in prayer. Through
prayer that is confirmed by a majority of board members, a Christian school is able to insure that it remains
in the purview of God's will.
