"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future."

How's It Feel For Parents
For a parent who has experienced having a child in a typical school
setting the change will be dramatic. For a parent who starts their first child in an Intentional School
it will seem like this is the way it's supposed to be. All parents won't be ready for the opportunity
to be involved that Intentional Schools offer. The school is ready to train and support them in this effort.
As they get in the habit of checking the progress of their child
on a regular basis they will realize that it offers a great opportunity to start discussion and dialogue. At some
stage in growing up children reach the point where they regress to one-word answers to parent inquiry. "Nothing", "good",
"dunno" is all the vocabulary they share. (Who would have thought you'd miss the chatter of a three year old.) Knowing
what is going on at school in the life of your child allows a parent to probe and be part of their life in a meaningful way.
This level of involvement also adds great meaning to teacher - parent dialogue. A parent doesn't ask
the teacher, how their child is doing, they know that. All the data a teacher typically shares in a teacher conference is
online and known to the parent. Parent - teacher conferences now revolve around where the student is relative to his peers and
what things can be implemented at home or school to further support the student's growth.
